Twee Jonge Gezellen is an original Cape Dutch farm dating back to 1711. We drew on this incredible heritage and the authentic Cape Dutch architecture as well as the sparkling character of Krone, the wine and Méthode Cap Classique it produces, to inspire a cohesive creative vision for the farm. 

 

The architecture takes centre stage and a quiet austerity and sense of permanence pervades the design. This informed the choice of natural materials such as oak, granite and clay (klompjes tiles), In contrast, the sparkling nature of Krone is expressed in magical moments, temporary installations, furniture pieces and non-permanent fixtures which can be moved or changed throughout the design.

 

Several South African designers and artists have been invited to collaborate on elements of the design, giving it a contemporary and unique character.
